In San Francisco's Mission Bay, there was a fishing community that relied on the bay's watersfor their livelihood. For generations, fishermen had been casting their nets here to supporttheir families, but unexpected events can change everything.

The government decided to turn Mission Bay into a modern city, and to do this, they usedlandfill made from trash and dredged material. Unfortunately, this led to the destruction ofthe fishing grounds that had supported the community for so long.

Peter, a seasoned fisherman with tanned skin from long hours at the beach and callousedhands, was deeply affected by the loss of his livelihood. The uncertain future of theircommunity left him and his fellow fishermen feeling uneasy and worried.

As the landfill project progressed, Peter watched sadly as the waters he had known sincechildhood slowly disappeared, and their beloved bay seemed to vanish beneath their feet. With limited options, Peter had to get involved in planning the new community as a longtimeresident. He had some input into the transformation. Looking at the map, Peter identified thespot where they used to fish, hoping to preserve their memories by restoring a part of thebay.

Peter's dream became a source of inspiration, and gradually, the government incorporatedhis vision into the park's design, keeping the name Agua Vista. Now, it's more than just awater feature; it's a symbol of courage in the face of adversity. Peter and his partner havediscovered a new purpose in sharing their story with a new generation, keeping the spiritalive.
